Abstract: Einleitung: This article is on International Young Physicist’s Tournament (IYPT)-problem three, Dancing Coin, of 2018. A coin is put on a strongly cooled bottle and after a period of time, movements of the coin and a sound can be observed. A theoretical model is developed to explain these occurrences by simplifying the heat flow into the system. The sound, on the other hand, is modelled as an open-end resonance phenomenon of the bottle with natural coin frequencies being damped by the tightening water.
