Streamwise, wall-normal and spanwise velocity statistics of turbulent pipe flow measured in a DN 100 pipe using a laser Doppler velocimeter (LDV) at the Gravimetric Thermal Energy Standard (GraTESt) in the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, Berlin. To normalize the velocity measurement data obtained by LDV, the friction velocity was determined through measurement of the pressure drop along the pipe test section while the bulk velocity was determined through the gravimetric method.
