Zusammenfassung:
Advancing digitisation is also having an impact on the field of calibration. Therefore, the digital calibration certificate (DCC) has been developed. A development which was also driven by the industry. Basically, the DCC is an XSD file (XML schema definition) which serves as a kind of template for digital calibration certificates in XML format (Extensible Markup Language) for all measurands. Its implementation therefore always requires further, subject-specific specifications. At the same time, it has to be taken into account that a standardised structure which does not allow all the freedoms of the XSD schema is advantageous for the machine interpretability of a document. This avoids interpretation errors between the generating and processing systems of the DCC. In this respect, dispensing with flexibility enables the efficient and digitally continuous exchange of data by means of a DCC, which can be implemented with reasonable effort. Within each metrology community, the standardised use of terms for the communication of measurement results is essential. This is why the universally defined XML elements must be supplemented with information that can be interpreted by humans and machines. DKD's Technical Committee on Length has developed an example of good practice (GP) for a DCC for gauge blocks which is presented in this expert report.
